SOLD. Small oil painting by Glenn McKay, in artist’s original frame. 7 inches x 7 inches.

Glenn McKay was a painter, photographer and 1960s light show pioneer. “In San Francisco, McKay created live visuals with overhead projectors, slides, and 16mm film projectors. He was inspired by fellow artist Tony Martin, at one of Kesey’s Acid Tests in 1966. McKay worked at the Fillmore and Winterland in SF, and toured with Jefferson Airplane as the band’s official light show. Glenn also formed the Headlights with artist Jerry Abrams, and acted as mentor to Joshua White (Fillmore East) in the early days.” (Steve Palovsky) By 1970, tired of touring, McKay bought land in Humboldt County, where he built a house and studio. His work is in the collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and private collections.

International shipping requires an additional surcharge.
