Vortex Concerts Logo, vintage poster, 1959

$700.00

Vintage logo portion from a Vortex Concerts poster, produced for the 1959 fifth and final series of the infamous San Francisco Concerts at Morrison Planetarium (1957-59). 11 x 10.5 inches. Printed on posterboard heavy stock, designed by Jordan Belson, part of the ad campaign by Henry Jacobs and Belson operating as the Audio Visual Research Society. This is the logo portion from the left side of an original Vortex Concerts poster. You can see he’s cut it off the poster, and some fragments of the words remain on the right edge. This is an extremely rare item from these legendary events, not many advertising items remain. Condition: light crease in lower right corner, tiniest tear at bottom, see photo.

A full original poster is also in the CVM collection and can be viewed at www.centerforvisualmusic.org/Belson/ (scroll down past the 2016 screenings). Please note this sale is for the logo part of the poster shown below only, not the full original poster on our site. The CVM watermark is not on the actual piece.

Price does not include full shipping via fed ex in the US, or cost of shipping via USPS outside the US. You’ll need to also pay this separate shipping surcharge after the purchase, amount depends on address. Contact us for more info.

Gift of Catherine Heinrich for a previous CVM Fundraiser.
