Oskar Fischinger, drawing from Kreise, 1933-34
Oskar Fischinger (1900-1967), Kreise (1933-34), #650, original animation painting, tempera on paper, 11.5 x 12 inches. Made in Berlin and used in the film Kreise. Numbered at top, punched for animation, unsigned. This is one of the first films made using the new Gaspar Color film process, which Fischinger helped invent. When shooting, he used color filters over the drawings. Third photo is from the sequence in the film which uses this drawing.
This abstract film was used as an ad by the Tolirag advertising company for various products. It's also one of Fischinger's last films made in Germany before he emigrated to Los Angeles. Here is an excerpt from the film. The title translates to "Circles."
Plus CA sales tax if required. Please note, full shipping cost is not included in the Squarespace checkout system for international orders (sorry we can’t adjust this).
There is also another drawing from this film offered in this Fundraiser.
